Whole lot of NEW @ Marshalltown High School Library!

New Databases!  Starting November 1st, we have access to Biography in Context and Opposing Viewpoints in Context from Gale.

Like our other Gale database subscriptions, these are available through your Destiny Library Catalog account One Search, separately from the library's home page, or at our Gale Virtual Reference Library portal.  Just use the same password that we use for all our databases!  Loving the fact that these databases offer translation and audio/Read-me sections.

New Books!  YAC (Young Adult Choices) is back and going strong at MHS Library.  This is our 5th year participating in the International Reading Association Program where students pick the top titles in North America for the year!  We've already received 125 new books and all students need to do is read and vote about the books. Best of all....we get to keep the books just for participating.  You can read more about these great and exciting titles at our Bobcat Book of the Day site.

New ChromeBook!  ChromeBooks are coming to the district soon, but there's already one at MHS Library that staff may check out. More units will be coming soon, but here's a chance to take a look!  After students have GAfE accounts, they'll be able to use these machines in the library.

New eBooks!  MHS Library now offers access to over 1000 eBooks through Destiny Library Catalog.  Just make sure you are logged into your Destiny account (your network username and password) for full access to these titles!

New on Nook!  We added almost 30 titles to our Nook units (they now hold 74 books). Lots of students have completed permission slips to check these out...in fact, Nooks are one of our top 10 circulating titles!

New Hours!  The library now opens at 7am on school days (closing at 4pm on school days)! Extended Wednesdays for Books and Bobcats (open to 6pm) will be on November 6th & 20th; December 4th & 18th; and January 8th.  Teachers will be on staff to help!

New Sign-in Stations!  Students now log in and out of the library through an electronic signing system.  Student ID is all they need!

MHS Library, the place to go when you need to know!
